Hot Water Beach is amongst the many magical Coromandel beaches. This one is unique and a wonderful experience for all. It is the beach to be if you love surfing and it is amongst the top for this activity in the whole of the peninsula. But the best thing and the origin of its name comes from the very meaning of it name. The beach is on the hot water underground surface. You have to wade via the lagoon and then reach the uninhabited beach area.
The other Coromandel beaches are Hahei beach and Cathedral Cove. Hahei beach has pink sand with blue water framed with the maori pa and cliffs till the end. The marine reserve makes it a home for all aquatics. And then the Cathedral Cove is the most photographed beach and you can go there by foot only. Then there are Opito Bay, Kuaotunu Beach and the Whangamata Beach that makes up Coromandel beaches. Opito Bay is just few miles away from the Kuaotunu beach. This is also unexplored like New Chums Beach and you can reach it either by a boat or a car. Kuaotunu is picturesque and has white sand. This beach is apt for activities like, kayaking, swimming, sailing, fishing and more.
